Mindfulness Meditation Challenge

The Challenge: I will meditate every single day for at least ten minutes.

Doesn’t sound like much does it? But the difficulty of committing to a small task every day is something that most people tend to struggle with. We are all guilty of knowing something is good for us and just not doing it… It goes without saying that the same is true of the reverse! As a Psychology graduate and an absolute brain lover – meditation is something that I have seen plastered throughout research articles, textbooks and blogs.

I studied a diploma in Mindfulness last year before I went traveling throughout Central America and it was possibly one of the most beneficial things I have ever done. For someone who is constantly on the go and often has a million and one things to keep on top of, my mind is constantly buzzing. I was meditating every day and this went on for at least 3 months – the clarity that ensued was incredible.

Almost a year has passed since I returned from traveling, which is the about the same amount of time since I last meditated! Therefore, I have decided to create a little challenge for myself and share it with you. Feel free to join in with a challenge of your own, I would love to hear about your experiences too! I will be posting every few weeks with an update.

Don’t know where to start? There are a plethora of resources on the world wide web! A great place to start is the Monash University website, they have some great introductory information on Mindfulness. Additionally, you can just type ‘Mindfulness’ into your App store and there will be plenty of Apps to choose from.
